Inspired by a certain clue-hunting board game of some prominence, The Poison Course is a self-contained TTRPG episode set in a city not too unlike the New Orleans of the 1790s. Player characters are household staff in the manor of Henri Stouffon, a businessman of some small prominence. An unexpected soiree draws a small group of socialites, but danger is afoot. A Villain is on the premises, and it's up to the PCs to foil their nefarious scheme.
The Poison Course is a one-shot episode for three to five players, who will be assuming the roles of "ordinary" folks (i.e. Zero-level characters). It includes a simple set of d20-based mechanics, it's easily usable with any old- or new-school descendant of the Original Roleplaying Game your group might favor. Don't have one? No problem, as a compact rule set is included.
So what are you waiting for? The fire is lit. The wine is open.
It's time for The Poison Course.
