Development Hell is a tabletop role-playing game where you and your friends play filmmakers under pressure from pernicious studio forces.
Players know they are in figurative creative purgatory. However, they are starting to suspect they might be in stuck somewhere far worse!
Starting with a writers room, moving through storyboard creation and then to role-play table-reads players will create a film. However, your plans of making the next great award-winning picture may prove more challenging than you think. The game pits your creativity up against the unreasonable demands of major studios. Ridiculous studio notes will continually get in the way of your artistic vision leading to hilarious moments of game-play.
Development Hell combines the madcap, straightforward role-playing of Fiasco with the fun, artistic gameplay of classic drawing party games, adding in just a touch of the creeping dread found in a good game of Paranoia or Call of Cthulhu. It’s a GM-less, low-prep game with a simple, turn-the-page ruleset.
